Products Products Products!

Hello my Sparkles!

There are so many amazing products I want to share with you. I feel like rambling them off with a short description before I forget any.

First off: Perfumes and Body Washes

I recently purchased the original Michael by Michael Kors Perfume. (After my disspointment with my Juicy perfume, I bought a small bottle to be prepared for the same dissapointment) BUT to my surprise, it lasts for DAYS and is so subtle and beautiful! It has a plumeria scent to it. It is not too sweet, but sweet enough to catch your attention. It is a professional scent, it is not a night-club scent. It's reasonably priced and I love it.

My second fragrance shout out goes to Prada. I was given their body wash and my goodness, is it amazing! It seemed to last longer when I first got it, but I still love the smell in the shower as I lather up! It is a bit pricey, although I'm not sure how much since it was a gift. Try it in a smaller size first to see if you love it.

Moving onto makeup:

I recently fell in love with Chanel. Call me behind the times, call me a new-be. But her eye-shadows are fabulous!!! Their texture is indescribable. At first application, you feel like it is a wet texture, but the product doesn't separate. So then you think it's a pressed powder, but it doesn't flake. I've used many other brushes to try and see the different ways to apply this, and for the first time, the brush that comes with the product is your best bet. The bristles really compliment the products odd texture.

The product is titled ILLUSION D'OMBRE and I have it in the color  Illusoire. I use it for my darker under-eye and to V it out on my upper lid.

I stopped by my bare minerals counter and a teacher of the products was there training other employees. She happened to start talking with me and taught me tricks and tips about the brushes and product I never knew! (I'll make a separate blog post after this one) But to finish up this post, she had me falling in love with the WARMTH color (bronzer) as an eye-shadow. I never liked it as a bronzer, it always made me look like a clown, or a girl with too much bronzer on, but as an eye-shadow its beautiful! It's cost effective because there is so much product and you will wear it and own it for quite a while! It looks good on almost every skin color and is a great buy!

and last but not least - something LIFE related:

CVS BABY WIPES!

I literally use this for EVERYTHING. To take off my makeup, to take stains out of clothes, for guests and family for bathroom use, to clean up makeup off the counters in the morning.  YOU NAME IT, IT CAN HELP YOU!

I buy them in bulk because of how much I use. Do not flush these though! They are meant to be thrown away.

They are affordable and a must have.

Alright my sparkles, Until next time!

Happy Shopping!

The month of May...

Hi friends,

My goodness - well I know I've started the last two blogs with an appology, and we all know -- too many appologies start to take the meaning away so I can't start by saying I'm sorry...

... ok... I have to though. I'm sorry! I'm sorry I havn't been doing weekly beauty updates! I really want to and I can now that school is over.

School has been a crazy roller coaster ride of craziness and business.

For what it's worth, school is over for a good three months and I will have so much time to sit and talk to you guys.

Since it has been a while I thought I'd start off slow and tapper it out throughout the next couple of days, plus it's 1:30 A.M and I should get some sleep.

A reason why I might not be tired is because I just drank an entire (large) glass full of this new coconut water I purchased.

(Ok so before I dive into this beloved coconut water I found I have to tell you a story behind this particular glass--- I purchased this bottle of Zico Coconut water from my local Trader Joes about a month ago. I opened it in the car and we tried it, I wasn't too big of a fan so I threw it in the fridge and forgot about it. Well today I didn't want to reach for the soda so I decided to see how this was. Keep in mind it is a month old - and opened. It tastes fine! I (Knock on wood) feel fine! This product is like a cockroach, and it is Jessica approved)

Now back to the review:

This is the product - it is called Zico Coconut water and looks like this:

I'm not going to lie- I do not like this product by itself. The taste is a bit salty and I'm not a fan of the texture. I am going to try and add this to my weekly routine because of the health benefits toward drinking coconut water.
              Health Benefits:
*Low in Carbs
*99% Fat Free
*Low in Sugar
*Keeps body temp regulated
*Here --- these guys do a better job at explaining it: Benefits of coconut water
I mix this drink. I mix it with almost anything, especially juice. Tonight, I mixed it with Orange Juice, but any juice will work (if you don't like the taste that much)
***For an added boost!*** Mix with Emergen-C powder! It will be an amazingly healthy mixture of vitamins, plus it will hydrate you and give you an amazing boost of energy!

I really wish I had the name brand of the product that was used on me,  but I got an airbrush tan. I have a friend that hand spray's it and it looked wonderful! I went to Vegas with it and it survived the crazy heat and swimming pool. I added lotion too soon so I got a little spot on my chest but that could have been from the lotion. I totally recommend this spray tan! It is 100% healthier for you than going into a tanning booth and quicker than waiting for a tan from the sun! Here is a picture of my tan at work in Vegas:

Wrapping it up for tonight, my final product review is for the Sundisk by Sephora. This beauty product is a must have and it's going to be in your life for years, even with every day use. It is so easy to use and applies so evenly. It is affordable ($10) and any brush works great with it. I use it only on my body because I have a different favorite bronzer for my face, but for my body it applies flawlessly and doesn't rub off. My Sundisk has lasted me for years and now that it is time to buy a new one, I see what a great investment it really is.

That's it for now kids, It is 1:51 A.M and I must try and get some sleep :D

I hope you are having a wonderful week and I look forward to writing to you shortly.

It's been so long!

HI FRIENDS!!!!!

My goodness  I miss you guys.

The good news is: We only have a few more weeks of school - then it's full force with the youtube station and blog!

I want to start doing weekly favorites. Let's start this week!

Monday, April 11th, 2011.

Favorite:

Snack: Smoked Gouda Cheese from TRADER JOES --- CAUTION!!!!! The only Smoked Gouda I've found that I love was in Holland and Trader Joes. Now, since I am not in Holland - I strongly suggest only purchasing this amazingly creamy, flavor bursting cheese from TRADER JOES. Don't have a Trader Joes near you? You can TRY a small sample or package elsewhere but unless you live in Wisconsin, I'm guessing it won't taste as good. Smoked Gouda elsewhere tends to have a over smoked taste, that or a very plastic type taste.

Drink (Non- Alcoholic): Perrier Sparkling Water. I'm not the biggest fan of the different flavors but the original is amazing. Get the travel plastic bottle. It keeps it's carbonation for days and has a plastic twist cap that keeps everything fresh. This is great luke warm but even better ice cold.

Websites that have sales: http://www.macys.com/ -- Not only are they having 20% off all CLEARANCE items right now, but they are also having free shipping! That's really cool. I have so many affordable summer dresses from them that I love.
http://www.eyeslipsface.com/ -- They have free shipping which is always great and right now they have 50% off all new products?! That's really cool. I love their line and use it as give aways in my youtube videos (youtube.com/sparklingreview)

Talented People:

Shannon Brady: This photographer is amazing. Her work really captivates her audience. She is really a talented kind person and if you think so too please help vote her picture to number 1! http://cleanspirited.strutta.com/entry/162234

J Fields: He is a very talented and down to earth up and coming rap artist. I really like his work. I am a country fan so you know he must be worth taking a look at if I like him and he does rap! He's really talented and the best part is his album will be FREE!  June 16th his release of D.I. is set to come out. Take a look at his website. I like his production companies name: Black Polarbear Entertainment. Go check it out!   DATPIFF.COM AND HOTNEWHIPHOP.COM

Movie: Paul. The one movie with the guy from Knocked up - Seth Rogan. He's classically funny and it has an interesting emotional aspect to it as well. I really liked it.

Song: I'm alright by Jo Dee Messina -- Such a cute song. Seriously on repeat. It helps everyone appreciate where they are and where they came from. Listen to it. :)

We just booked a Vegas trip for May and I am so excited! I will be blogging about things I'm packing because I'm sure it will be quite warm and some other fun details...

Remember: If you have any questions... any at all about anything: makeup- me- traveling: post them anonymously on my formspring: http://www.formspring.me/SparklingReview

Thank you so much for hanging out today guys! I really do love doing this and getting to know all of you :)

3/22/2011 Update!

My Goodness Friends! I miss you guys! I'm so sorry I havn't been up to date with this but I'm done now with my midterms and can breathe again.

How has everyone been????? I hope wonderful :)

So: A few updates.

1) I have a new video up!  The story behind the inspiration for the "EMERGENCY MAKEUP KIT"  is one night I was spending the night somewhere and realized I didn't have any makeup with me for the next morning. OF COURSE I washed my face before I went to bed so my face was left makeupless for the next morning. I quickly ran to my local drugstore and purchased some must have items for a makeup "emergency" such as  - not having any haha I will post the link here: Check it out kids!
I've listed the products I use and this kit will last years. I'm not the biggest fan of the term "emergency". What I mean by "emergency" is just finding yourself in a situation where you need something you don't have, in this case: my makeup.

2) My dad's getting married! This will be a great opportunity to film and let you know tips and tricks of being a maid of honor and make up tricks I use on my dads wedding party!

3) Either tomorrow or Thursday I will be filming an acne tips and tricks video. Manyyyy questions on my formspring have been about acne and questions on how to treat, prevent and conceal.

4) I recently purchased so many products from ELF (Eyes Lips Face) makeup line and I will be filming a haul, then a review.

5) Even though its only March, I want to start filming and blogging about summer ideas! Summer skincare, summer

So Stay tuned guys. Remember!!!!!!! Subscribe to my youtube channel to stay up to date!

I'll see you guys in a bit!

Hate that breakout after the gym?! Well let's fix that!

Hi BOYS AND GIRLS!

Yes.. this applies to both of you! How disheartening is it to start going to the gym and feeling healthy, but your skin tells you a different story!

Breaking out after starting a gym routine is VERY common, but luckily - I have a solution for you!

I have my top 5 products EVERYONE should use to keep that skin clear before during and after the gym.

Here we go! Are you ready? Pens and Pencils out! annddd begin!

1- ACNE MEDICATED FACE WASH -- Even if you don't have acne!!! This strips your pores of dirt, grime, backteria, sweat, from the long day or night and starts you off with a fresh face before your work out. I suggest my Clean and Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser. USE THIS BEFORE AND AFTER THE GYM

2 - TONER OR ASTRINGENT -- Apply with a cotton swab and disburse over any potential acne areas before and after the gym.

3 - OIL FREE MOISTURIZER -- This is a must but apply lightly! This will help the drying effects of the two products listed above and will help hydrate your skin as you sweat out your bodies moisture.

4 - COTTON SWABS -- One of the most affordable and most loved products I will review! These little guys are a wonderful alternative to using your naturally oily hands to touch your face. Use these to apply your toner/ astringent and if you feel really inspired- use it to help apply your face wash

5- (This one is for ladies) unless you rock the long hair guys! More power to you! HAIRBAND- Get that hair and especially your bangs out of your face! Your hair has excess natural oils plus any hair product that mixed with sweat is only going to clog those pores and create acne.

Tired of reading and want to see these products come to life!

Check out the video for it!

Don't forget to subscribe while your there!

Thanks guys! Have a great day!

- Jessie
